5-year research technician position in RNA and immunity at the University of Edinburgh

Posted on February 20,

The Macias lab is seeking to recruit a research technician through a 5-year Wellcome Trust- funded research programme aiming to understand the role of non-coding RNAs and transposable elements in controlling the type I interferon response.

The type I interferon response constitutes the first layer of defence against viruses, however pluripotent and early embryos are not capable of producing interferons in response to infections. In this project, we will investigate the role of non-coding RNAs in suppressing the interferon response during early development.

The candidate should have extensive experience in hESC and iPSC cell culture and differentiation protocols.

Dr. Sara Macias laboratory is based at the Institute of Immunology and Infection Research at the University of Edinburgh.

Deadline for application 25th March 2021. For further information, please contact Dr. Sara Macias, [email protected]
