Built on novel circular RNA technology developed at MIT, Orna is leading the next wave of RNA therapeutics with our best-in-class expression and delivery platform. We are seeking an exceptional researcher to join our Delivery Sciences team as a Research Associate / Sr. Research Associate and help develop our best-in-class proprietary RNA expression and delivery platform. The ideal candidate is a motivated individual that can independently execute experiments with efficiency and creativity. They will support the design and execution of experiments; possess strong oral and written communication capabilities; demonstrate excellent collaboration & interpersonal skills; and be adept at problem solving in a fast-paced environment.


  • Formulate novel RNA encapsulated nanoparticles and characterize them using a variety of analytical approaches, including sizing, encapsulation efficiency, zeta potential, and RNA stability by HPLC
  • Process tissue samples from mice into single cell suspensions and independently perform flow cytometry to understand and enhance RNA potency in target tissues and cell types in vivo
  • Transfect and measure expression of RNA nanoparticles in tumor cell lines and/or primary cells in vitro
  • Actively work with multiple teams across the company including Immunology and Molecular Biology to provide formulation and analysis support for in vitro and in vivo studies
  • Collaborate with supervisor and Delivery Sciences team on results and experiment planning
  • Plan experiments, analyze data, and present findings; maintain lab notebook, inventory, and protocols
  • Contribute to a positive and exciting work environment in a young, fast-growing company


  • BS/MS in biochemistry, chemical/biomedical engineering, analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or relevant field
  • 1-3+ years of laboratory or industry experience is desired; title is commensurate with experience
  • Experience in flow cytometry is a plus
  • Experience in siRNA, DNA, or mRNA lipid nanoparticle formulation is a plus
