Postdoctoral Position in RNA Editing at Boston University

Posted on May 24th,

A postdoctoral position is available in Prof. Ruslan Afasizhev's laboratory in the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology at Boston University Medical Campus. Our NIH-funded research program investigates the mechanisms of mitochondrial RNA editing and RNA processing in trypanosomes. Ongoing projects include mitochondrial transcription, mRNA editing, polyadenylation, translation, and small RNA biogenesis. We collaborate extensively in proteomics, bioinformatics, and cryo-electron microscopy. We have recently determined the first structures of RNA editing complexes, providing exciting opportunities for cutting-edge research.

Qualifications: A strong background in molecular biology and biochemistry, and a record of impactful peer-reviewed publications in RNA-related fields. Preferred experience with RNA-Seq, bioinformatics, protein purification, mass spectrometry, or interactomics.

Environment: Boston University Medical Campus, located in Boston's vibrant South End, provides an outstanding collaborative environment, extensive networking opportunities within a dynamic biomedical community in the Greater Boston Area, and excellent cultural and recreational resources.

Compensation: Starting postdoctoral salary of $70,000 plus comprehensive benefits.

Application: Interested candidates should send a letter of intent and CV to [email protected].
