Postdoctoral Position in the laboratory of RNA Biology and Therapeutics, University of Kansas Medical Center2025 August 19th, A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of RNA Biology and Therapeutics (https://kumc-staging.ingeniuxondemand.com/school-of-medicine/academics/departments/biochemistry-and-molecular-biology/research/kharel-lab) in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB), University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC). The Kharel Lab is looking for the applicants with interests in studying RNA biology in human neurological disorders. Particularly, an interest in studying G-quadruplex biology from both biological and therapeutic aspects is desired. Applied methods range from the use of biochemical, biophysical, molecular, cellular, and bioinformatics approaches. Collaboration with structural biologists is possible. Applicants should hold a PhD or equivalent degree in Biochemistry, Molcular Biology, Cell Biology, or related fields. Applicants should be self-driven, highly motivated and capable of planning and conducting independent research under the PI’s supervision while being willing to collaborate. Practical experience in RNA and/or protein biochemistry, including the expression and purification of recombinant proteins and the functional analysis of proteins and RNA-protein complexes is desired. Experience in investigating aspects of eukaryotic translation and associated quality control processes will be highly appreciated.
